Chin Augmentation Candidates

Chin augmentation can be used to effectively alter one or more the following:

The Procedure: What To Expect

Dr. Chhatre uses three sizes of silicone implants during chin augmentation and will use his judgment to decide which will best enhance your profile by taking a number of factors into consideration in addition to your physical traits, including your gender and personality. Depending on each patient’s unique case, chin implants can be placed under the chin or through the mouth in a small incision below the lip. Both types of procedures result in very small scars.

Our chin augmentation procedure aims to create a 90 degree angle between the neck and chin, and some patients may wish to combine the surgery with liposuction to further enhance their results. If liposuction or tightening of the muscles is performed at the same time, patients will be advised to wear a chin strap to ensure even contouring post surgery. During a follow up appointment seven days after their augmentation, patients will return to the office to have their sutures removed and allow the doctor to check on swelling and bruising, which can be lessened using arnica oil throughout healing.
