Q: Are Silicone Or Saline Breast Implants Right For Me?
A: A number of factors need to be considered when determining whether silicone or saline breast implants are right for you, and each type of implant comes with a unique set of advantages. While both provide aesthetically pleasing enhancement, including perkier, firmer and rounder breasts, silicone implants offer a softer, more natural feel. A patient with little breast tissue and low body fat may also prefer silicone for a more natural look.
Many patients who are concerned with the possibility of an implant rupturing prefer saline. Additionally, saline implants are suitable for someone on a strict budget. Lastly, silicone implants are only available to patients 22 years of age and above, meaning some younger patients may prefer saline implants.
Q: What Size Of Implants Is Right For Me?
A: Both silicone and saline breast implants come in a wide range of sizes. Dr. Chhatre will work closely with each patient to advise which size of implant is right for you, while considering factors such as your height, weight and body type, and desired cosmetic outcome. Many patients prefer to bring in photos of breasts that they like the size and shape. During this time, patients will discuss realistic expectations of their enhanced appearance post surgery.
Q: How Much Do Breast Implants Cost?
A: At Summit Plastic Surgery & Med Spa, our breast augmentation fees are universal except for the difference of price in implant type – silicone is slightly more expensive than saline. Our comprehensive treatment cost includes pre and post operative appointments, cost of implants, anesthesia and surgical fees, as well as a post operative bra. We offer a range of flexible payment options, including CareCredit™ financing.
Q: What Are The Advantages To Breast Augmentation Surgery?
A: Breast augmentation patients enjoy permanent aesthetic enhancement on a number of levels: breasts are larger, rounder, perkier, and more uniform and symmetrical. Many satisfied patients attest to their excitement at confidently filling out clothing with plunging necklines. Overall, patients enjoy improved self confidence and increased happiness regarding their appearance.
Q: What Are The Risks Of Breast Augmentation Surgery?
A: As with any type of surgery, breast augmentation is not without its risks. Though rare, risks include the formation of scar tissue around the implant (capsular contracture), displaced or leaking implants, and the possibility of infection. Choosing an experienced board certified surgeon who operates in a clean, safe environment can minimize these risks.
Q: How Soon Following A Consultation Can I Undergo Surgery?
A: Our patients typically experience a six week waiting period between the time they schedule an appointment and the time they undergo surgery.
