Prevention & Protection

We’ve all heard the term ‘Prevention is Key’, well- that couldn’t be more true when it comes to skin care.  At your first visit to our MedSpa, your esthetician will talk with you about your lifestyle and the importance of incorporating an anti-oxidant and broad spectrum SPF into your daily skin care routine.  We can’t avoid the damaging rays from the sun all of the time, but we can put the proper products on our skin to give us the best protection possible.

A common misconception is that SPF only needs to be applied on sunny days when you will be in direct contact with the sun.  In actuality, SPF and anti-oxidants should be applied every day regardless. They not only protect from the damaging rays of the sun(which can penetrate glass and clouds), but also everything in the environment that can attack and break down your skin.  We offer a broad range of stable vitamin c anti-oxidants as well as broad spectrum SPF products at our Kansas City area Medical Spa.  Contact us today to schedule your complimentary skin analysis.

Correction

Correction of sun damaged skin will vary from person to person.  The type, number and combination of treatments required will be determined by your current lifestyle as well as the amount of damage you currently have.

For minor amounts of damage, incorporating skin lightening products and a retinol into your daily skin care routine can be sufficient enough.  By stimulating cell turn over, the products will lighten the light surface pigment leaving your skin with a beautiful glow.

For more severe damage treatments such as Halo, BBL or ViPeel will target the heavy pigment and rough skin texture.  Most times, depending on the severity, multiple treatments are recommended.  Your esthetician will advise you on how many treatments would be necessary as well as if any combination treatments are recommended. The combination of Halo and BBL is one of our most common treatments to target both heavy pigment as well as rough texture.
