Lower Body Contouring For Improved Shape And Tone
Dr. Matt Chhatre performs thigh lift surgery at his Kansas City area clinic for patients who wish to improve the shape and tone of their thighs.
After losing weight, the skin covering certain areas of the body can lose its elasticity, resulting in sagging, drooping skin. If the skin on your inner thighs is sagging, a thigh lift operation can tighten the skin and increase the smoothness of the area’s natural contour. A thigh lift can be performed alone or as part of a complete body contouring procedure. To learn if you are a good candidate and if a thigh lift can help make your thighs appear more shapely, contact our practice serving Kansas City, Lee’s Summit, and Overland Park today.
The Thigh Lift Procedure
A thigh lift begins with anesthesia, administered to ensure your comfort during the surgery. Next, the surgeon will make the incision in your thigh. One widely-used technique is to place the incision in the groin, extending downward and wrapping around the back of the thigh. Another technique involves an incision that instead follows the outer thigh up along the hip. In either case, underlying tissue will be reshaped and tightened. Excess skin and fat will be removed and the remaining skin will be re-draped, giving you proportionate, smoother body contours.
What Should I Expect After My Thigh Lift Procedure?
You will experience some swelling and bruising after the procedure, but the positive results will be immediately apparent. You may need to wear a compression garment in the weeks following the operation to support the tissue as it heals as part of your thigh lift recovery.
How Long Will My Thigh Lift Results Last?
The results of the procedure are relatively permanent. Though aging will cause your skin to slowly continue sagging, you will not experience significant degradation of your contours or the smoothness of your skin following the procedure.
